Volunteering

There are several ways to volunteer at the cyrenians farm:

Residential Volunteer
In this role you would act as a 'peer mentor' to the residents of the farm community. Helping out with day to day tasks around the house and on the farm. Residential volunteers normally stay for 6 - 12 months

Day Volunteer
Day volunteers join us on an ad-hoc basis mainly to help with specfic seasonal tasks on the farm. This could range from mucking out the chickens to harvesting raspberries, to preparing a polytunnel for planting.

Please email or call 0131 333 5202 if you are interested in becoming a day volunteer.

Quotes from volunteers

"It's good experience to learn new things and meet new people. It's very important to be close to nature." Tamara from Italy

"I love working on the farm during the day. Some of the things I do are collecting eggs, digging, weeding and team challenges. I  love both the city and farm communities for Edinburgh Cyrenians but for me I have always loved being close to nature and appreciate the simple things in life- fresh air, sunshine, planting something and seeing it grow. The farmers do such a great job, they put so much effort into their work. They are also very good at training you if you have never done this sort of work before. They are very patient and kind. I am happy to volunteer on the farm and learn new skills as I go along".   Ketai from England.
